Our Company Bio

So where does our name come from? It comes from this gorgeous dog…this is Orion. I bought Orion when I was 18. I can remember how excited I was to have a dog that was my own, bought with money I had saved up from working. I did everything you’re supposed to do. We took puppy class and I did my homework every day. He learned the basics quickly and he was well socialized. I brought him to work with me and we took walks around any public park we could. I also owned his litter mate and I made sure they each got their own walk with me as well as a walk together.

Somehow by his first birthday, Orion became very reactive on leash and eventually his brother, Achyuta, did too. I tried everything I knew (which at this time wasn’t much) to fix it but eventually resorted to midnight walks so we could enjoy our time together without worrying about distractions.

Luckily, the vet hospital I worked at has an extensive behavior modification program so I learned how to manage him and how not to put him in unfair situations. We were invited by coworkers to come to their Schutzhund club (the sport we still do today now called IGP) and I was able to train him to be neutral as well as give us a hobby to build our relationship!

Orion started my dog training journey. When his issues first arrived I was so embarrassed. I was disappointed in myself but also couldn’t understand why this happened since I had done everything you’re supposed to do when raising a puppy. After being in the dog world for awhile I realized how many people felt like I did and I wanted desperately to help. With structure, obedience, consistency and an owner that will advocate for them…they can still be amazing dogs. Orion definitely was love.
